We've now completed this project, have returned all working areas to their original conditions and have left the area.

We would like to thank the community for their patience while we completed this important project.

We've laid all the required new water main and this is currently being tested and sampled to make sure it's ready to supply drinking water. Once the results of the sampling are successfully returned, we'll transfer the remaining customer supply pipes to the new main to complete the project.

We're about a week behind our programme, but will work to complete the project as quickly as possible.

We've completed the first connection to our existing network, at the junction with Maidstone Road, and we've laid a total of 260 meters of new water main. This section is now being tested and cleaned.

The second connection to the network will be completed today, and we're also preparing to connect customer service pipes to the new main.

We've been excavating trial holes along The Green to help establish the most suitable route and understand if it will be possible to lay the new pipeline using the more efficient method of directional drilling, rather than excavating a trench along the entire length of the road. We have been able to find a suitable route for this, and have laid the first section of new water main in phase one.

This week be excavating the required pits for the next 150 metre section of pipeline to the be installed.
