As part of our ongoing programme to improve our water supply network, we have installed 210 metres of new water pipe in Plough Lane, Waltham St Lawrence, Reading.
This vital £90,000 investment replaced an ageing and unreliable water pipe which had suffered seven bursts in the last five years, causing significant disruption to local residents.
The project started on Monday, 7 August and took around six weeks to complete, with the majority of the work taking place in the school summer holidays.
We undertook the final stage of the project to close off the old main out of hours to not impact Waltham St Lawrence Primary School.
We would like to thank the community for their patience while this important project was carried out.
