We’re investing £100,000 into the water supply network in Baltic Road, Tonbridge. This vital project will allow us to take the nearby drinking water storage tank out of service without interrupting the supply of water to our customers in the area.

The work involves laying a short 10 metre length of new pipeline between the two existing mains within Baltic Road. This will provide the flexibility needed to be able to take the storage tank out of service and maintain supply.

When is work due to start?

We started work on this project on Wednesday 13 November and expect to take approximately six weeks.

Our team will work as quickly as possible to complete this project. Work will take place during normal working hours, although there will also be some activities at weekends.

Road closure and parking restrictions

We know how disruptive road closures are and so they are a last resort. However, to ensure the safety of pedestrians, motorists and our team we will need to close Baltic Road between the junctions with The Drive and Deakin Leas for the duration of the works.

A diversion route, which has been agreed with Kent Highways, will be clearly signposted for the duration of the work and can be seen below.

Parking restrictions

Several parking spaces next to the storage tank may also need to be suspended for the duration of these works. We would appreciate your co-operation with any parking restrictions to prevent any delay to the works.

Access to property

You will be able to access your home or business throughout this project. However, there may be a short wait at times if we are working directly outside your property entrance while the team make the area safe for you to cross.
