College Avenue water treatment works set for £14m upgrade
South East Water will soon begin work on a £14m upgrade to the College Avenue water treatment works in Maidenhead.
Construction is set to start on a £14 million upgrade to South East Water’s College Avenue Water Treatment Works in Maidenhead.
The project forms a key part of the water company’s five year £489 million investment programme to improve water supply infrastructure.
Preparations are underway with construction set to begin in July, with various new tanks and a UV plant being added to help improve the quality of water supplied to customers in the Maidenhead area.
This first phase of work is due to complete in August 2024 with further work planned in the future.
Steve Ntifo, South East Water’s Project Manager, said: “We are committed to using the most up-to-date technology to ensure we provide the highest quality of drinking water to our customers.
“This project is key to future proofing the top quality drinking water we already provide in Maidenhead area.
“We will work as hard as possible to keep disruption to a minimum, however there may be occasional noise and additional vehicle movements to and from the site.
“On behalf of South East Water I would like to thank the community in advance for their patience and co-operation while this important work takes place.”
Residents neighbouring the treatment works have been sent letters to make them aware of the work and provide them with contact details should they have any issues.
