Residents of Kingston, Canterbury set to reap benefits of new water main

16th June 2021

South East Water has completed its project to install 485 metres of new water main in Kingston near Canterbury that will keep residents’ taps flowing for years to come.

The £245,000 project to replace old, unreliable mains with new pipework started in February and took place in Black Robin Lane and Covet Lane.

Jeremy Dufour, Project Manager for South East Water said: “We’re really pleased to have finished the project on time, improving the resilience of the local water network.

“We know that regular emergency repairs can be disruptive when a pipe does burst, which is why it was so crucial that we upgraded the pipework in this area.

“I would like to thank the local community for their patience while we carried out this work, we understand road closures can impact everyday lives and the community has been very understanding throughout this scheme.”

This project forms part of the company’s £433 million investment programme between 2020 and 2025.

Customers can register for updates on the water supply and planned investment projects in their area using the company’s interactive map(opens in a new tab).
