South East Water to temporarily re-open road closure for South of England Show
South East Water will temporarily lift its road closure on Fox Hill (B2112) this weekend to make it easier for motorists to visit the South of England Show.
The road closure will be lifted by 5pm on Thursday 10 June and put back in place by 7am on Monday 14 June to enable the company to continue laying its pipeline.
South East Water began its project to install 464 metres of new water main along Fox Hill in April and is on schedule to finish mid-July.
As part of the £250,000 scheme, Fox Hill (B2112) has been closed while the new pipe is installed for the safety of residents, motorists and the workforce.
Matthew Cooper, Project Manager for South East Water said: “We appreciate the patience of residents and road users while we carry out this essential work under a road closure.
“We will always look to work around the needs of the community when carrying out a scheme and are happy to lift our road closure for the weekend of the South of England Show as we know how important and popular it is attracting people from across the region.
“Once installed, the new main will secure the top quality drinking water supplies to the area as the local population grows.
“We are now in the final phase of work with approximately 65 metres left to install.
“The road closure will back in place from Monday 14 June until the project ends mid-July.”
