We're really sorry you're having problems with your water. This usually happens because of work in your area, or an incident like a burst pipe.
Please check the following before calling us:
1. Check our live map
Our online map shows any incidents affecting water supplies in your area. It's updated 24/7. You can also sign up for free text and email alerts so you always know what's going on. Check the live map(opens in a new tab) here.
2. Run your cold kitchen tap
Your main water supply usually comes through your cold kitchen tap.
If water comes out of this tap but not others (like your shower or bathroom), the problem is probably with your plumbing. If so, you'll need to contact a plumber (see step six). If no water comes from your cold kitchen tap, go to step three.
3. Check your stop valves
Your inside stop valve (usually found under the kitchen sink, in the airing cupboard, or under the floorboards by the front door) needs to be fully open. Turn it anticlockwise if it's closed. Your outside stop valve also needs to be fully open.
4. Check with your neighbours
If your neighbours don't have the same problem, it could be an issue with your internal plumbing.
5. Call us
If you've done all the checks and still have no water, please call us on 0333 000 0002(opens in a new tab) (Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm, and Saturdays, 8am to 1pm). For emergencies outside these hours, call 0333 000 0365(opens in a new tab) (24/7).
